Fighting! Fighting! Fighting!

It’s “fighting” cats and dogs this issue, serious critics, extreme comments, horrible backstabbing and pointing fingers at each other, and of course, a victory at last. Sometimes you just don’t need to give in anyway, because that pathetic someone has to learn a tough lesson. I thank those who share the same view, although we went through quite an adventure to solve the problem we’ve been facing since day one, two thumbs up!

Better or worse? I don’t know, you decide.

New Page for The New Year

I got my increment this beginning of the year, not my salary, but the pages of the magazine. This issue, magazine went from 120 pages up to 132 pages. Editorial pages remained the same amount, unfortunately, I had 30 over pages for the Advertorial. You may think I over-reacted, but let me explain, imagine you are entertaining 15 advertisers with each has own liking, each has hundreds of images for your to choose, each has comments, each has suggestions, each demands a deadline, and don’t forget, you still have your own client for the editorial to entertain. It was pretty hectic at first, and things seemed chaotic too. But somehow, I managed to accomplished my tasks, with the help of my colleagues. I am pretty proud of my perseverance this time. Cheers to the hard work!

I love because it is simple

I am lack of observance. Nowadays, I can see the Malaysian clients have evolved. They are no longer fancy of filled-up busy design, but simplicity. Simplicity means classy to them. It took quite some lessons, sweat and blood to realise the fact that, simplicity, arranged and neat is the new black.

Unsatisfaction!

Frankly speaking, I am not happy with the results. The magazine is nice, but merely because of the help of attractive photos. Too bad, now i have to rely on images to enhance my layout. Am I a loser?

Third time the charm

This my third post for my third issue’s magazine. Besides sweats and hard work, there is more to explore. What kind of challenge will I be facing in the future? I am walking to another chapter of my career.

Congratulations, It’s twins!

I gave birth again! Not a child, but a magazine. I know it may sound crazy but I worked with sweat and blood and now, finally, it is lying safe in my arms. It is always my dream to actually produce a magazine that is filled with my passion, creativity and thought. Thank God, my company and my client for giving me the chance to explore. Although we went through a tough time, the hard works bear double happiness and double satisfaction.   picture-1.jpgpicture-2.jpgpicture-3.jpgpicture-4.jpgpicture-5.jpgpicture-6.jpgpicture-7.jpgpicture-8.jpg

Turn the Page

While everyone is queueing up for Harry Potter and rushing to read the first page, I envy the success of the author J K Rowling who can win everyone’s heart by just words. I wonder if the readers will go crazy if the layout of the books are specially designed. Just some thoughts to balance my tiring day.

I remember my superior quoted what Barney said to her, if the article she wrote was not interesting enough to stop us to read it, then it is our responsibilities to make it “readilicious”. I bet Ms Rowling will not agree with the quote. But anyway, Barney is not Rowling, we have to do what we were told. Although it sounds unfair, but I am still proud as design rules! And it makes the task so challenging because we design magazine with EXTRA passions and hearts. In that case, I studied the personality of the article. Then from there, I will think of a way of presenting the article to the readers. I would not say it is my design that draws the readers’ attentions, but it spices the thing up.
